Best known from TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2 (1986) as radio disc jockey Vanita “Stretch” Brock, Caroline was unfortunate enough to record the film’s first chainsaw murders during a request call, and then teams up with Dennis Hopper’s Texas Ranger to seek out the murderous Leatherface and the rest of his cannibal Sawyer family. Featuring several very memorable scenes and great performances by all, this is one of the franchise’s best sequels as she becomes separated from Hopper’s over-the-top, almost Nick Cage-style of lawman, and trapped in Texas chili hell. Struggling to avoid becoming the next victim inside the Sawyers’ secret hideout under the dilapidated “Texas Battle Land” amusement park, Caroline endures chainsaw battles, witnesses a live skinning, and even a gruesomely romantic dance with Leatherface as her intense, fear-fraught portrayal cemented her as a favorite 80s scream queen.

Before TCM2, Caroline began with mainstream roles which continued alongside horror highlights STEPFATHER II (1989), where Caroline plays Matty, best friend of the murderous stepdad’s new wife, his mail carrier and session patient followed by an easter egg style cameo as a reporter in LEATHERFACE: TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE III (1990) and then found herself chasing a magic coin in LEPRECHAUN 3 (1995). Playing a crooked roulette dealer in Brian Trenchard-Smith’s unhinged horror-comedy, Caroline gambles on cosmetic enhancements from Warwick Davis’ imp only to find herself “bursting” with bad luck.

With a quick stop on SABRINA THE TEENAGE WITCH (1996) and other popular 90s shows, Caroline enjoyed a lengthy period in more mainstream fare to finally return to horror in Rob Zombie’s HALLOWEEN II (2009). Her first of many cameos in the genre, she plays the lead doctor in the opening scene when the final girls of part one are admitted to the hospital before doing a double take of Canadian horror with THE UNLEASHED (2011) and ABOLITION (2011) with PHANTASM star Reggie Bannister and “Johnny” from IN A VIOLENT NATURE, Ry Barrett.

Caroline’s next great eerie entry came in one of the best retro slasher franchises of this century, HATCHET III (2013). A fun sequel exploding with gore from writer/creator Adam Green and director BJ McDonnell, who later tapped her for a part in the SLAYER music video shorts with Danny Trejo, cast her as the journalist Amanda, ex-wife of the sheriff and resident Victor Crowley expert who alone has figured out the secret to ending the curse.

After that came a steady stream of roles big and small in a wide variety of horror-fare including CONTRACTED (2013) , the sexual assault STD body horror where Caroline plays the concerned but aomewhat overbearing mother of the infected girl; then THE PROFANE EXHIBIT (2013) as the troubled wife opposite Clint Howard in Uwe Boll’s piece of this international anthology that also includes segments by Italian horror legends Ruggero Deodato and Sergio Stivaletti; and TALES OF HALLOWEEN (2015) before sending a big nod back to her TCM2 in SHARKNADO 4: THE 4TH AWAKENS (2016) where she plays “Stretch” once more as owner of the Top Chop Chainsaw Store alongside Dog the Bounty Hunter and Leatherface actor Dan Yeager from TEXAS CHAINSAW (2013).

Married to the Istar-controlled restaurateur in BLOOD FEAST (2016), Caroline becomes the involuntary participant in the one-man cult’s bizarre ritual murders through this German-helmed remake of the Herschell Gordon Lewis classic before making an excellent cameo role as the mother of the “Hanukiller” with Sid Haig and Corman legend Dick Miller in HANUKKAH (2019), a Jewish sendup of the holiday slasher theme.

Next came another cameo in Glenn Danzig’s VEROTIKA (2019) before starring roles in the neat vampire indie TEN MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT (2020), where she finds herself as a late night radio host behaving strangely after being bitten by a bat on her way to work one evening, and then as the lead scientist on an underwater geothermal energy crew who disturb the habitat of giant 180ft sharks in MEGALODON: THE FRENZY (2023).

Now with over 80 TV and film appearances to date, Caroline most recently sank her fangs into a RENFIELD (2023) cameo as the mobbed-up lawyer who springs mafia heir Ted Lobo out of jail after he runs afoul of the titular character, followed by HE SEES YOU WHEN YOU’RE SLEEPING (2024) as the devious, conniving aunt in this Christmas-themed slasher, and the upcoming DEATH CAME KNOCKING (2026), releasing later this year.
